Email support@diskkind.com. We can troubleshoot from versions and visible errors; your personal storage inventory should stay with you.

What to include

Your DiskKind version, macOS version, the screen or action involved, and the exact error shown.

What never to send

Licence keys, personal files, unredacted paths, scan snapshots, cleanup receipts or application inventories.

Need to restore?

Open Trash in Finder and put the item back before its producing app recreates data or before you empty Trash.

Quick answers

Start here.

Why can’t DiskKind read every folder?

macOS protects some locations. Full Disk Access can improve coverage, but it does not guarantee that every path is readable. DiskKind reports what remained unreadable instead of counting it as empty.

Why can file contents exceed drive capacity?

Logical file size can exceed physical disk space because compression, sparse ranges and APFS clone sharing change how content occupies blocks. DiskKind keeps those measurements separate.

Why hasn’t free space changed after Trash?

Moving an item to Trash preserves a recovery window. Capacity usually returns only after you deliberately empty Trash later yourself.

Is a large developer folder safe to remove?

Not automatically. Folders such as .colima can mix re-downloadable images with irreplaceable volumes and databases. Inspect the producing tool and stop it before making a decision.
